Learn from a retired female tradie who’s sharing her expertise…no mansplaining here…just real talk and real skills.
Perfect for beginners, this workshop will demystify the safe (and surprisingly easy!) use of common hand and power tools, giving you the confidence to have a go. Imagine knowing exactly which fastener to use – nail, screw or bolt – for every project. Then putting your newly sharpened skills into action by building your very own wildlife habitat box!

Sharon of Cardog Designs is a small-scale sculptor, silversmith, maker and teacher who enjoys the challenge of working with found/repurposed objects.
Workshop: Don’t Fling it, Bling it.
Learn jewellery making in this fun, hands on workshop. Make earrings using hand tools and simple techniques. A variety of materials will be supplied, and additional metals can be purchased on the day. Bring along some old jewellery that we can repurpose and incorporate into our designs.
All tools needed will be supplied, and kits will be available to purchase.

Tutor: Repurposing for Resilience Team
Workshop: Build your own Solar table.
This hands-on workshop guides participants through building a functional and unique table using a reclaimed solar panel. You’ll develop basic design skills, and apply construction techniques using common power tools. The workshop emphasises sustainability, upcycling, and practical solar fundamentals. Participants will also have the option to connect a buck converter to enable USB charging for mobile devices. By the end, you’ll have a unique solar-powered table and the skills to give new life to old solar technology.
